College Grove, TN - The 2nd Annual Pig'n in the Grove Festival will bring world-class barbeque into town Sept. 4th as championship barbeque teams from several states descend on College Grove for prizes, cash and fame. The Festival will also include Arts and Crafts, Show & Shine Car Show, KidsZone and Country/Bluegrass Music.

Pig'n in the Grove is hosted by The College Grove Recreation Association. Proceeds from the event are used to support youth athletics in the community.

"We want to encourage folks to come out to Pig'n in the Grove Festival and bring a friend," said Donna Young, Chairperson for the event. "It is one of our community's greatest events, providing delicious food and lots of other entertainment for the entire family." Our first year, we had over 2,500 people in attendance with 29 BBQ teams competing.

Pig'n in the Grove is sanctioned by Kansas City Barbeque Society. KCBS is the world's largest organization of barbeque and grilling enthusiasts with over 10,000 members worldwide. KCBS sanctions almost 300 barbeque contests coast-to-coast throughout America, where competitions for barbequed chicken, ribs, pork and brisket are served up and judged by Certified Barbeque Judges.

KCBS is the most respected judging and sanctioning body in America because of its blind judging process that uses a weighted scoring index to ensure a level playing field for all competitors. The organization also trains and commissions Certified Barbeque Judges at classes held across the America.
